The sign on
the elevator said
‘Out of Order’
and that was all right with me.
***
I was in no hurry.
***
“Which-ever order is fine with me, elevator!” I said, as I stepped in.
***
But instead of an
adventure in randomity,
***
I was taken swiftly
to the basement floor.
where I remained
for eight days.
Oh dear!

It’s ok, I was taken care of by my animal friends until help arrived.

I hear this is how Newton discovered gravity, as well.

I hope the misadventure didn’t cause your spirits to plummet.

So long as its not the mile high club, then ok.

No mile high, only things like elevator shafts and anvils falling out of the sky.

Elevators these days. Where is the spontaneity?

Perhaps gone the way of the beloved and gloved lift operator. —CC

This immediately brought to mind the scene in the last episode of “The Big Bang Theory” when the elevator doors open and Penny is there. It is the first time the elevators have not been “Out of Order” since the series began.

I only ever caught one episode and I thought it was pretty clever, but maybe I should check it out.
