of opposing humours.

“What’s for dinner?”

I say, “Fish.”

You say, “Horse.”

Now we have a problem.

So we start again.

I say, “Fish”

***

You say, “Horse-fish.”

***

Now we have a compromise.

***

But either way —

Dinner’s off.
