Problems and compromises

What is a problem?

***

A problem is said

to be the diversion

of opposing humours.

***

Or, when one force meets counter-force.

***

Example:

“What’s for dinner?”

***

I say, “Fish.”

***

You say, “Horse.”

***

Now we have a problem.

***

So we start again.

***

I say, “Fish”

***

You say, “Horse-fish.”

***

Now we have a compromise.

***

But either way —

***

Dinner’s off.
