That’s the stuff of which limericks are made, George.
He stood in a Trefclan tartan kilt
Totem pole tall on pole vaulting stilts
Tall towers will lean
Lighthouses turn green
And windmills shall fall short in a tilt.
Or platform shoes. But stilts are much taller. Same with a soap box. I guess stilts win out. Except for one thing, of course. Pride and/or satisfaction and/or fulfillment can make a man stand tall, and that’s a hundred million times taller than mere old stilts! :)
Lest we forget the man who feels pride and fulfillment while standing on stilts. Truly. he is the tallest man of all. Thanks, S, and I apologize for the lateness of my reply
Lol! So true.

Buford Pusser didn’t need stilts. He was known for walking tall without them.

Pusser used to take off his stilts to beat people with them! Thanks, David
