Tales of electricity

I remember when the

electricity went out

at our house. The

only candles my mom

could find were

birthday candles.

***

But each time

she lit one

one of us would

make a wish and

blow it out.

***

In short order

the two of us

had stored several

wishes a piece

***

Mom told us to

stop immediately

and find

something else to do

***

Like, sing a song.

***

So my sister and I sang

“happy birthday”

to the dark

Happy New Y’ar!

.

If you see me fall

please don’t help me

I don’t want to be your

trouble and pain.

***

All I ever wanted to do

was make you happy

So if you see me fall

leave me lay

***

And If I just can’t stand

please don’t get up

I don’t want to be your

trouble and strife

***

All I wanna do

is prove to you

I can help myself

so if you see me fall

leave me lie

***

I know you’ve been by my side

when-ever I needed you.

But you got a lot on

your plate now, baby

You don’t need me at all

***

Whistle break

***

So if you see me fall

please don’t help me

I don’t want to be your

trouble and pain

***

All I ever wanted to do

was make you happy

So if you see me fall

If you see me fall

If you see me fall

leave me lay
