Hans Christian Andersen
so feared being buried alive
that he always kept
a note in his pocket,
that read,
“Please do not bury me
as I may not be dead”
… but Hans is dead now, tho’,
& that gets me worried
— so–
I always carry a note
with me for when,
that says,
“I may not be
Hans Christian Andersen.”
They’ll know it’s you.
From your two cavities.

Good one. Coincidentally, I’m using this Hans Christian Andersen quote in my next post on March 10: “Enjoy life. There’s plenty of time to be dead.”
