  1. The Kelso Dunes (Mojave National Preserve, California) are “notable for the phenomenon known as singing sand, or ‘booming dunes’. Enthusiasts sometimes climb to the top of the dunes and slide down slowly, generating a low-frequency rumble that can be both felt and heard.” It’s pure conjecture as to whether musical tones are created by sliding down hills of flint. In any event, I’ve never heard flint’s tones.
