You are standing in line. Your front is the head of the line and your back is the back of the line. Just don’t turn around, or it gets very confusing.

I thought that too when my husband told me he was waiting in line at the post office but there was no one else ahead of or behind him. Seems we need a new phrase for this situation. Queuetiation?
