A girl named, sincerely

I used to know a girl

named, Sincerely.

When she moved away,

I realised how much I really

missed her, so I tried to

write her a letter to express

all the things that were in

my heart.

I failed at every attempt.

Each letter began,

“Dear Sincerely,

Alas, it seemed that once

again, I had run out of

room before I could say all

that I want to say to her.

So, at the bottom of the letter,

I added a bunch of X’s and O’s.

“This is what tic-tac-toe

looks like unbridled

by the number sign.”

My Featured Blogger this week is George Raymond of the exceedingly quirky blog site Trefology. At least I think it is. That’s because it’s difficult–no make that outright futile–to get a straightforward answer out of this fine fellow. On the other hand, it’s extremely easy to get a smile, a chuckle, and even an outright guffaw out of his humorous verses. Could he be Ogden Nash’s long-lost nephew? We’ll never know.
    So that will have to.
    Do, that is, do.
    No, make that suffice.
    Which is just as nice.
