I had always
suspected that
my sister was
a changeling,
***
Each time our mother
would go out to
collect wood, my
infant sister would
suddenly stand up,
dance about,
play the bag pipes,
drink boiled oil,
spin straw into warm gold,
and place empty
walnut shells around
the fire.
***
When our mother
would return,
she’d ask,
“Who drank the boiled oil?”
***
“Who do you think?!” I would say.
“Come on, mom, wise up!”
.
.
What’s your sister’s version? 😂
Very wise, Sadje. Thanks!
Thanks 🙏🏼
Sheesh!….did she do this clothed or unclothed?
Swaddled, naturally.
A true nature baby…….
I love that.
Thank you, 9
Your sister had some fairy strange behavior.
And worse, it happened quite elfin.
Her antics must have dwarfed your childhood experience.
In no small way, let me tell you.
In reflection, even if childhood memories are a bit rough around the edges, you have to admit that there is no place like gnome.
I told my little sister she was a changeling, too. 🤣
That is practically the job of the older sibling! Thanks, K.
I have a sister like that only she told me she was an alien and at night she would turn on her greeniator (it turned her green) to regenerate. Oh, the things she would get up to when no one was looking.
My sister told me she was a cat, ahh, but times change. Thanks, SPP
Shaking my head. So weird. :P
I’ll take that as a compliment. Thanks, Betsy. All hail to your foot.
Ha! And yeah, the foot wants worship alright. The lousy such-in-such.
I’d call that a chilling yarn, but how can boiling oil be chilled?
Good question and one that I will ponder over another Christmas mug of boiling oil.
Sounds normal to me. (Of course, I am the changeling in my family.) :)
Granted, I always wondered why the faeries didn’t steal me and replace me with a changeling. Nothing fun ever happens to me. Thanks, MM
Oil’s well that ends well. Even if it’s boiled. (However, I might suggest an antacid afterwards.)
Haha Hey! There is my friend. Thanks, David
Ha. Wake up and smell the coffee, Mom! lol
Any girl that can play the bagpipes is a keeper in my book!
It is rare! Thanks, Chagall
