“She Hasn’t Got a Mean Bone”

She goes to church on Sunday
She goes to work on Monday
She does the very best she can
***
She loves her mother
She loves her father
Takes good care of her man
***
She hasn’t got a mean bone
***
If she ever got in trouble
it would surely pop her bubble
***
And it’s gonna break my heart
to watch her fall apart
***
Lies — she don’t tell ’em
Alibis — she don’t use ’em
She’s always true to herself
***
She sees the good in you
Ignores the bad in you
She gives everybody an even chance
***
She hasn’t got a mean bone.

Happy 81st Birthday, Dad!
A lovely song and tribute
Thank you for listening, Sadje
My pleasure
Awesome song and performance! Happy Birthday, Mr Raymond!
Thank you, MM
I have a bone to pick with your father. “You should have been a big star in the music industry! What the heck happened? Ding, dang, and darn!”
Agreed. Thank you for the comment, David
She’s all sinew. Fantastic!
Thanks, Bob

Thank you, D.
This is very good! Thank you for sharing it, and happy birthday to your dad!
Thank you for you listening, Basilike
You are welcome! I enjoyed it very much!
Beautiful!
Women like that are rare these days for sure. Really enjoyed it! Beautiful!
On a different note, is it just me or are there no’like” buttons for your individual posts? On my site I think it’s next to the reblog icon – want to like many, if not all, but I’m at a loss, must just be me, eh?
First, thank you for listening and for the comment. Second, I removed the like button. Aesthetically, it improved the site. But I could not remove the like button on the wordpress reader, so it sill exists there. Thanks, again, 00
Thanks, for once it’s not me. I always look forward and enjoy your posts
Thanks, 00, that means a lot to me.
Awesome song Tref!
Thanks, Max!
Love!
Thank you for listening, Janny
This song made my day. By the way, I’m always looking for the like button as well. I don’t always think I have something to offer to the conversation but would like the writer to know I appreciated the read.
First, thank you for listening. I remember back in the 70s my dad recording that song on our game table surrounded by all of his various instruments. … Thanks, SPP
Moving performance
Sorry for the lateness of my reply, Carl. But thank you for the kind words.
You inow I like his music. Thanks tref.
Thanks, cbh. This was always one of my favorites. Sad back-story: my sister’s friend fell asleep as she driving home. And telling the story, my sister said, “She didn’t have a mean bone.”
I instantly was thinking of the “She’s” I know that fit that lyric. Quite a few. I always wonder where the inspiration for things come. Very cool tref. “Sad” but inspiring at the same time.
